In conjunction with the Leek Loves Books Festival! Are you a magpie like me and just love anything shiny and glittery?! Then this session is perfect for you! You'll also be able to bring along your favourite book and create a unique embroidery to match the colours on the cover! We'll begin by rummaging through piles of old beads and jewellery and I'll show you how to sew them onto preloved fabric to create your own unique little works of art on 4 inch embroidery hoops! You'll also have a choice of different sequins and letter beads to add to your work if you'd like to. This session is really lovely, relaxing and mindful. You'll get to have a few hours to yourself, stitching, sipping, eating and chatting! It's the perfect stress buster! You'll get immersed in searching through the piles of beads and in your sewing. Its perfect for all skill levels, you don't need any experience to come along although it is beneficial if you can sew a basic stitch for example a simple running stitch or you're able to sew on a button. Absolute beginners are more than welcome to attend, however you may not quite finish your piece of work but you will have the chance to take some beads home to finish it there! All equipment and materials are provided for you including a 4 inch embroidery hoop. You can bring along old pieces of your own jewellery too to add to your piece if you like to make it really special or even a piece of material that you like or has treasured memories for you. The session will run for approximately 3 hours. You'll be able to buy your own drinks to enjoy while you work!
