Author Interview

Can you walk us through your typical writing day? Do you have any rituals or habits that help you stay productive?

Nature is a rich source of peace, wisdom, and inspiration, so before I start to write, I often like to take a long walk.

There is something about the combination of gentle movement, a dose of wildness, and quiet mindfulness that really stirs my soul and sparks my imagination.

When I return home, my mind feels clearer and any creative conundrums have often been unraveled.

Before I sit down to write, I brew a hot cup of herbal tea, wrap myself in a blanket, take a deep, centering breath to get myself into a calm, imaginative zone, and then I begin.

It's always an adventure to see where my writing will take me that day.

What inspired the main idea or premise of your current book?

'Reconnect, Grow, Restore: A Beginner's Guide to Rewilding Your Soul' explores how to find yourself in nature, inspired by Celtic wisdom.

Sparked by my love of the great outdoors and my fascination with nature-based spirituality, I share how I found my way again after experiencing the loss of my Mum.

In my book, you will embark on a personalised journey through the Celtic Nature Wheel, encompassing the elements and the seasons, so that you, too, can reconnect with yourself through the wonder and beauty of nature.

How do you balance writing for entertainment with exploring deeper, more complex themes?

Whilst my book explores themes such as loss and environmental issues like climate change and pollution, it is crafted to be an inspirational and uplifting read.

My book puts you at the heart of it, offering a personalised reading experience where you will unlock the wisdom found within the natural world, discovering how its lessons might apply to your own life.

What has been the most rewarding part of being an author so far?

When people tell me they have enjoyed, been inspired by, or found meaning in something I've written, it is an unbeatable feeling.

Also, being able to achieve my childhood dream of becoming a published author is magical.

If I could turn back the clock and tell little me that I'd become a writer, I would have jumped for joy!

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself through your writing career?

That my books tend to have a life of their own. For me, the writing process is like being on a journey where you're never sure quite where you'll end up. But that's all part of the fun of the creative process!

How do you see your writing evolving in the coming years?

I hope to keep writing about nature and our connection to it, as well as exploring myths and folklore, and how to find wonder, joy, and peace in the natural world.

Before we wrap up, is there anything you'd like to share with readers about your work or upcoming projects?

'Reconnect, Grow, Restore: A Beginner's Guide to Rewilding Your Soul' will be published this month - September 2025 by Neem Tree Press - an imprint of Unbound. It is available for pre-order now and you can find out more about my book by clicking here:
